Hira Pervaiz started her conversation: There is a song which I hear almost every day. Its “wo subah hameen say aai gi “.
I joined this industry at a very young age and with the grace of Allah made it big in the field of anchoring and News. When someone enters this industry we all have a dream. My dream was to be a filmmaker. But then I was young and had very limited exposure.
Young Freelance Producer and Actress Hira Pervaiz shared her experience with colleagues and industry.
There’s a famous quote “the biggest risk in life is to never take any risk at all “. I took a risk and jumped into acting and initially got a very good response. It taught me too much, And I was lucky enough to work with the topmost directors of the industry like Anjum Shahzad, Farooq rind, aabis Raza, Mohsin Mirza and many other names.
But at the same time, I observed something. Within the industry, a lot of unjust things were done. Nepotism prevailed and a lot of people told me that “it’s haraam”. How can something which is a mode of survival for people and entertainment that puts a smile on peoples face be haraam? This didn’t make any sense to me.
During this entire course, I was called names specifically labelled as “emotional”. I don’t consider it as a weakness but my strength. How can you perform or produce when u don’t know emotions. This industry taught me everything. Love, hatred, animosity, heartbreak and moreover kindness too.
Taking all of this account and being impressed by the female producers who exist I decided that its time to pay the industry back that supported me for years. I want to promote good talent and “merit-based decisions”. My aim is to give work to people who actually deserve it and are willing to work hard. Want people to “respect this industry” rather than promoting politics of negativity.
“I don’t care about what people think about me,” Said HP
The only thing scared me is “Almighty”. My goal to project a positive image about the industry and for this, I will put my sweat blood and soul to make it work. I love everyone here from a producer to a spot boy as its only teamwork which makes any project successful. But for that negativity has to end.
People tell me you can’t change the world or the society so change herself. I don’t believe in this. In my opionon, the screen whether television or cinema is a very powerful medium and through this, by giving good messages to the society we can change it and through my work.
We agree with you. Keep up the good work
